In this video, we'll discuss viewing and transferring recorded data using the Kor Mobile app. You can also view and transfer data using the EXO Handheld or Kor Software on your PC.
It is important to distinguish between data recorded on the Live Data Screen using Kor Mobile and data recorded on the Sonde during a deployment, which we'll come back to in a moment.
Data recorded on the Live Data Screen is instantly available to view in the Recorded Data section of the app. Simply tap on the main menu icon, tap Data Management, then Manage Recorded Data. Here you will see a list of data files that reside on your mobile device.
Each data file includes a unique file name, timestamps for when the recording started and stopped, the number of datasets in the file, and a site that was tagged to the file. You may filter this list by any of the parameters or by the instrument name or serial number that was used to record the data.
Tap on a file to view the datasets contained within. The default view lists the parameters and values as they appear in the Live Data Dashboard. There is a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen that allows you to easily navigate through the dataset.
Much like the Live Data Screen, you may choose to reorder the way the parameters are displayed. You can also view the data in a grid view, like a spreadsheet. In this view, parameters are displayed as column headers, and you can see how the data changes over time.
While viewing a dataset, you can select to share it via email. This will attach a CSV file to your email. From the list of data files, you can long press on a single file, which then allows you to pick multiple files to view or share.
Here you can also choose to delete files. Please note that once they are deleted, they cannot be recovered.
Data recorded on the EXO Sonde during a deployment must be transferred from the Sonde to the mobile device for viewing. Do this by selecting Import Sonde Data under Data Management. This will bring you to a list of data files that reside on the EXO Sonde.
File names typically include the Sonde serial number and the start date of the deployment. This may be useful if the Sonde contains a lot of data files. Tap on the single file to start the import process. Once Sonde data have been imported, they can be viewed under the Manage Recorded Data screen along with any other local data files.
Finally, importing Sonde data pulls the raw bin or binary file as well as the CSV. Bin files are useful as they contain metadata and can be opened in Kor Software. If you wish to share the bin file, simply tap Transfer Bin File and it will be attached to your email just like the CSV file.
That covers data management. For more information on Kor Mobile features, please check out our other EXO University videos and thanks for watching.
