The WL450 features a 316L stainless steel diaphragm, digital temperature compensation, and environmentally neutral Hytrel® cable. These assets enable the unit to provide a high level of performance over a long period of time and a wide range of operating conditions

    Key Features:

    • Rugged 316L Stainless steel flush-diaphragm sensor
    • Highly accurate water level measurements
    • Highly Stable digital temperature compensations
    • Steel or Titanium Housing
    • Well-built to support depths of 3ft to 500 ft
    • Durable and environmentally neutral Hytrel® cable
    • Analog and Digital outputs 4-20 mA and RS-485

The Global Water WL450 All Stainless Steel or Titanium Water Level Transmitters offer standard features and a level of performance that provides outstanding accuracy over temperature. Designed and ideally suited to environmental monitoring applications such as test wells, surface water, streams and reservoirs.

In addition to stainless steel, the transmitter is also available in titanium housing for increased resistance to corrosion in seawater, aquaculture, or chlorinated water environments

WL450 All Stainless Steel and Titanium Water Level Transmitters include a RS485 direct to digital output for a modem or other communications network. This avoids the error and complication involved with analog to digital conversion devices

  • FAQs

What are the best applications for the WL450?

    • Ideal for static level water monitoring and water depths in rivers, streams, groundwater, and other surface water applications.
    • Titanium option excels in coastal and other environments with high salt content.
    • Depth monitoring for wells and/or sludge testing.
    • Water elevation monitoring between different sites.
    • For monitoring water level usage within industrial plants.

What makes the WL450 different from other YSI water level instruments?

    • It has the ability to use analog and digital outputs such as 4-20, RS-485, and SDI-12.
    • It utilizes Stainless steel or titanium diaphragms.
    • It can be easily connected to external Data logging and telemetry units.
    • It can record water level, but not temperature.
    • It has lightning protection and a surge protector built-in.

What is the difference between Stainless Steel or Titanium Diaphragm over Silicon?

    • Stainless steel and Titanium are stronger than silicon Diaphragms. In projects where concern may be particles damaging the diaphragm stainless steel and titanium may be the better option over silicon.
    • In environments that have corrosive materials such as salt, titanium is the go-to choice in preventing corrosion.

What type of depths and cable lengths are available?

    • Depth ranges: 3’,15’,30’,60’,120’,250’,500’
    • Cable lengths: 3’,25’,50’,75’,100’,125’,150’,200’,300’,500’

Does it have datalogging capability, and how does it connect?

The WL450 does not have datalogging capability, but can easily be connected to most dataloggers, Scada, PLCs, and telemetry units.

    How is the WL450 calibrated?

The WL450 is calibrated in the YSI facility and quality certification upon shipment.
