MISSION: WATER 10 HEADLINE SURFACE WATER SUMMARY HYPACK, a Xylem brand, provided a number of key tools to complete the survey, providing full support and onsite assistance. Harold Orlinsky, General Manager of HYPACK says, “We were immensely proud to be involved in this project because there are very few eye-witnesses left from D-Day and the project provided a unique opportunity to reveal the detail of this underwater graveyard.” Emphasizing the importance of remembering D-Day, “Operation Overlord represents a vital moment in the history of the free world, and it was an honor to be part of the team that commemorated its anniversary by documenting the remaining artifacts of this epic event.” Today, twenty-seven war cemeteries hold the remains of over 110,000 dead from both sides: 77,866 German, 9,386 American, 17,769 British, 5,002 Canadian and 650 Poles. Thank you to MC4, LCL Production, Sherrell Ocean Services for the use of imagery, Measutronics for equipment and labor. This survey was processed and collected with HYPACK software using Edgetech 4600 and the R2Sonic UHR Multibeam. The survey team was able to locate and identify each target with the software.
