CHICAGO, IL – (September 28, 2015) – OI Analytical and YSI, both Xylem brands, will feature industry-leading solutions at WEFTEC® 2015, designed to help customers address regulatory compliance requirements and increase efficiencies in the lab.

Xylem’s OI Analytical and YSI brands will be exhibiting in booth # 1041 at WEFTEC 2015, September 28 – 30 in Chicago, IL.

Wastewater treatment plants and environmental laboratories – running samples to perform daily monitoring for regulatory compliance – can improve laboratory productivity by automating wet chemistry test procedures in measuring cyanide, nitrate/nitrite, phosphate, Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN), ammonia and more. The Flow Solution™ 3700, the latest addition to OI Analytical’s line of automated chemistry analyzers, is easy-to-use with an enhanced user interface and intuitive controls. Innovative technologies built into the FS 3700 have also enabled higher accuracy and precision of measurements as well as improved detection limits.

According to David Barclay, General Manager of OI Analytical, “For many years flow chemistry has been a complicated technique, so it’s been exciting to develop an automated technology that is not only efficient, but also offers plug-and-play ease-of-use with pre-configured chemistry cartridges and modular, expanded-range detectors. We introduced the FS 3700 last year at WEFTEC and it was enthusiastically received by the market. The customer feedback has been extremely positive, especially in regard to the system’s flexibility and intuitive software.”

When it comes to measuring certain parameters that are required for regulatory compliance, such as pH, BOD and Ammonia at the effluent of a treatment plant, the YSI MultiLab line of meters is ideal for wastewater treatment and environmental labs. The MultiLab line includes the MultiLab 4010-1 (one channel), MultiLab 4010-2 (dual channel), and the MultiLab 4010-3 (three channel) multiparameter meters as well as smart digital (IDS) probes for pH, ORP, conductivity, and optical-based BOD5 measurement. The product line was engineered from the ground up with the laboratory end-user in mind, with an easy-to-use and -calibrate menu-driven operation and improved data integrity and security.

Each of the instrument’s channels can be used for any probe. The one channel instrument offers an easy-to-read monochrome graphic LCD while the two- and three-channel versions offer color LCD displays, another unique feature in the industry.

According to Tim Grooms, YSI Director of Water Quality Products, “Our MultiLab line has been a very strong product for us. Just one meter can measure three parameters at a time — any three of pH, ORP, BOD, ISEs, or conductivity, or even three of the same parameters. We’re definitely a leader in the space, and we continue to innovate as we address customer needs.”
